Dyslexia, as well as dyscalculia, are still often overlooked. This can lead to people inaccurately being labeled as lazy or stupid. If this happens, these people are also not helped with the appropriate interventions. So here are some dyslexia as well as dyscalculia symptoms that can help you identify people with these conditions.

as a Chinese person, i do have dyslexia and when I’m writing Chinese i always mess things up. So english is actually a lot easier for me and my english probably looks normal lol.

It has a Wow. As a child, I had the hardest time in math. One marking period, our grade was based on memorizing times table. Got all As and a F in math. Teacher said I hadn’t tried. Accepted it, but I really had tried. I just couldn’t remember multiplication tables. I also get right and left mixed up all the time. While visiting UK, got so disoriented that husband had to drive. I was absolutely terrified in a car unless it was stopped and parked. Would turn white as sheet in a moving car husband said. Now retired and a senior citizen. I still have problems. Thought of preparing taxes alone is stuff of horror movies to me.

That last quote at the end of your video, couldn't be farther from the truth! Back when I was diagnosed with dyslexia in the early 1960s, teachers, educators, and the general public were not aware of the characteristics of dyslexia and so labeled me as lazy and stupid. This in turn caused a lot of low self-esteem.
