I still don't understand why a lot of countries are so confusing with ebike law's. In the UK we are restricted to a max of 500w and 15.5 mph and that is pedal assist on the road . Why they could not make it 20 mph is beyond me . Ebikes are the future but I still don't see that many where I live . I think it is down to price over here more than anything . But the laws do need changing as for anyone with knee problems etc . Ebikes are the way to keep you on your bike . Nice video as always 👍.

They want us to go green but keep adding regulastions that are NOT needed. Hold individuals accountable. They have effectively made ebike useless for upstate rural NY, you are not allowed on roads above 30mph! Alll the roads are 55mph around me. Gonna burn so much GASOLINE! Thanks NY law makers

Great presentation. August 2nd, 2020 e-bikes are legal in NYS and NYC. No more than 20mph, can't be on the sidewalks, must have lights on bike at night and wear a helmet.

Here is the problem as I see it. I ride an E-Bike, my recumbent that I converted to an E-Bike last August. I installed the pedal assist system, so the motor only works when you pedal, this it is still a bicycle. Now if all you have on your E-bike is a throttle, then you've turned it into a Electric Moped/Motorized vehicle. At least that is how I see it. If you want an E-bike, find one that is pedal assist only. Just say NO to the Throttle!
