It’s not just the money, it’s the endless forms that federal agencies require that are passed onto the teachers who now have to spend valuable time filling them out instead of lesson planning and correcting children’s work so we can make informed decisions on teaching them.

Ending the federal department of education would free up 238 billion dollars that we could give to the states. Each state board of education would get approximately 4.7 billion dollars for schools!

department of education creates a hyper-inflation in cost of education! imagine having $200k of student loans to everyone pursuing a degree, all the universities hear is "we get to charge $200k for 4 years! let's go!!!"

Try being a poor school district in a rural area after the department of education is eliminated. Not everyone can home school and private schools can say who is in and who is out based on $, faith, sexual orientation etc etc etc.

Special Ed programs will be gone and IEP will no longer exist.
