Anja and Aila have been living on the French Riviera for so long that they know their way around, and they can speak French (kind of ;-). But even for them, navigating public transport in Nice and the surrounding places remains a bit of a struggle…
However, it is possible! Especially if you're based in Nice, you can reach almost any destination by bus or train. You just have to know how - and that's what they're going to show you today!

Thanks for watching!

Have you tried out public transport on the French Riviera? How did it go?

Thanks, we were going to reside in Menton. Then work our way down the coast to Cannes. Now, after watching this video I may choose Nice as a place to reside then do day trips to each town.

Pass Sudazur is a great tip. Thank you. This ticket is great. I'm going to buy this exact ticket, it's perfect. I first heard about it here in this video.

I love your video!! We had mega-stress (like Gare de Nord) stress arriving in Nice and taking the tram to our hotel. Yes, we got assaulted (it was a very aggressive group of "police" who told us every mistake we made buying a ticket. This was after arriving from Canada direct, not finding one single person to help at Nice Airport, and after discussing with locals what to do, we still got it wrong. Oh yes, the machines did not sell one-way tickets that day, only round trips. Plus at most SNCF stations the machines do not work, and half the name of the stations are not possible to enter because the scroll wheel does not work. Eventually we bought the pink cards and guess what - they didn't load with a credit card unless you hold them like yoda and sit for an hour under the shade praying. And worst of all nobody we spoke to (we speak very well in French) gave us the right answer. It's shocking that the region welcomes travellers this way.

Hello from Slovakia ! Such a helpful video, thank you for that. : )
Actually, I´m planning to visit Nice in April this year. So according to information on Nice Airport website, it is not possible to buy "SUDAZUR EXPLORE PASS" for unlimited travel for 3, 7 or 14 days directly at the airport, but according to your video it is possible ( if SUDAZUR EXPLORE PASS is actually Pass Sud Azur 3j/7j/14j ) . Quite confusing. ; )
