It's a credit to others' acting besides Pacino but the actor playing the thankless job of the prick academy principal, when Pacino shows up, blind but imposing, the principal looks over and the expression on his face is one of intimidation. His character was planning on railroading the boy/student character, esp. with his parents being gone but this mysterious figure, blind but yet imposing, and a former Lt. Colonial in the Army, for a moment, the principal looks very intimidated, like he knows this won't end well.
