I love DVDs, no matter what people say they will never be obsolete. The price is just right for most people like me who just want to OWN a copy of the films they love. People forget that the point of collecting physical media is to OWN them and watch them at your terms. Keep collecting mate!

I still own DVD's and HD DVD disks because they come with the original uncut and alternate versions of the movie, plus a lot of cult classic DVD movies are still unavailable on bluray and streaming services so this is the main reason why I still own DVD's.
Great video.

Here is the sad reality. A lot of the old movies are being censored on streaming platforms. They literally cut scenes they have deemed not up 2024 standards. Wokeness is killing all media and movies. I will keep my collection.

For me it’s Blu Ray for Movies and DVD for TV shows.

I wouldn't get rid of your DVDs yet. There are still a few DVDs with special features, extended cuts and correct color timing that Blu-ray/4K radically changed; and many of those features and cuts have never been carried over.

I have hundreds of dvds I've collected over the years, I don't collect them anymore but I don't have any intention of getting rid of my collection.

I've just started collecting again after years of streaming and I can totally get on board with this. I have bought about 500 in a month, charity shops are a GREAT way of keeping the cost down.

My main reason I buy dvds still is because of everything getting censored on streaming sites. So I like to try and get full uncut version. I also back up my collect onto a hard drive so I have a digital copy.

I still have and watch dvds they are not obsolete but most movies if available Id rather watch on bluray or 4k. But Dvd is still fine in my opinion for many TV shows or certain movies like Comedys where High quality visuals are just not necessary. But I rarely buy Dvds now but still do.

Physical media > streaming, any day of the week. Whether it's DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K or even VHS, I will always favor owning movies and TV show season sets over streaming them.

I'm prioritizing buying Blu-ray these days, but I still buy DVD, and I still watch my DVDs even on my 65" 4K TV

Some time ago I watched a DVD movie with my friend's bluray player, and the video quality was so much better that way, when nothing limits it. DVD players with scart connector were the reason to somewhat bad video quality. Nothing wrong with DVD's, there is absolutely no need for that extra quality, the movie is what matters. Bad movie is bad, no matter how big the resolution is. I have a lot of DVD's and I have no Blurays and I never use netflix or similar things.

I am a huge advocate for having a physical Media collection, even if its a movie you'll only watch once or twice. So many great titles are at thrift stores (we call them that in the us lol) and even Blu Rays. Specifically for tv shows, it is sooo worth it to just buy it instead of subscribing to a service especially the rights always being so finicky. Breaking Bad for instance is getting taken off Netflix in 2025, so I bought it all on blu ray and Better call saul, because they were the 2 shows I only cared about loosing and I unsubscribed. Now I can watch if the Internet goes out and I don't have to worry about any episode getting removed or any ads! Not to mention, if a favorite movie gets taken of streaming, ill always have it. Great video!!! Greetings from America!

I think this prices are not gonna last more than 3 or 4 years. I live in Mexico and I got recently 12 DVD movies for half a dollar each. And people is beggining to look movies for resale and makes it harder to find good titles, sometimes they left because they are non dubled versions. Concerts are most difficult to find in Mexico mainly for music market wich it has more demand.

I like the movie trailers you get on DVD's. The amount of good or obscure fillms i would of missed out on.

Director and actor commentaries are the best part of DVDs. I have to make a "Sophies Choice" when I watch Fight Club.

Quality and sound matters especially if you have a decent setup. There’s a huge difference between dvd & blu ray. Only time I ever buy DVDs is that they don’t have it on blu ray or 4ks.
