Lange & Sohne underrated? That’s a top brand! You’re mixing up ‘underrated’ and ‘unknown to the general public’

Grand Seiko is my favorite pick of the bunch, at least as far as amount of innovation vs. lack of notoriety goes. The only plausible explanation is people from the Swiss snobbery camp hatin' for the sake of hatin'. Just because GS is amazing, it doesn't mean "insert brand here" is inferior. Everybody has their "thing" they do best. Why can't we all just get along?

1. Omega Railmaster
2. Zenith el primero
3. Rolex explorer 1 & 2
4. A Lagne 1
5. Blancpain 50 fathoms
6. Grand Seiko

I'm glad that you are mentioning Grand Seiko, I think you should also mentioned Credor. A lot of people need to know about those brands.

Great List.
You mentioned the Omega Railmaster 50th Anniversary was 2017. If I'm not mistaken, 2017 was the 60th Anniversary from 1957.

GS is so underappreciated in the watch making world. I really wish I had one. I need to save up for a while to pay my student loans first before I buy one haha.

I own a Rolex Explorer II with cream dial. Mine is considered a collectable because it was made around 1985 and is different from the model you illustrated here. On the dial the indicators on mine are surrounded by gold rather than black. The numbers on the outside dial on mine are more 'squashed", more compressed. My dial is a cream color rather than white and lastly the words 'Superlative chronometer" and 'Officially Certified" are centered where the gap between the words lines up and are not offset as in your example. I only found all this out from a article by Alex Hofberg called Time Pieces in a magazine about sport cars. In any event mine is considerably more valuable because of these differences. I have always enjoyed the watch, it has never failed me and I enjoyed your video as well. Love watches!

Totally agree about the Railmaster, it’s often overlooked for the Rolex Millgauss, & I love the Omega’s textured linen type dial

Nice video, as always, Teddy. You hit the nail on the head about Lange and Grand Seiko, two seriously underappreciated brands.

Totally agree with the list, I think some of them might be a future collectable (A. Lange & Söhne) I think also Glashütte Original is also really under appreciated. The fifty Fathoms is the diver watch for watch enthusiasts. Grand Seiko is just unbelievably Totally agree with the list, I think some of them might be a future collectable (A. Lange & Söhne) made to perfection. I think also people overlook Sinn, and underrated Breguet. Great video Teddy

Teddy, what about Carl F. Bucherer? An independently owned producer, The Evotec in house CFB A1000 movement with peripheral rotor is innovative and elegant in design. The watches are finished beautifully with use of the best materials and craftsmanship . And importantly they represent a value in the collector world.

I still appreciate that you give you're own criteria to specify what your're talking about so people can fully understand your points. Too many people give a topic and then just talk, not giving any ground to work on!
Best, IC

Hope you realise you were not mentioning all the flaws in the Zenith El Primero movement. Rolex did not use this movement in the Daytona as it was. They reworked it completely only leaving the ébauche untouched. They even lowered the beatrate because the El Promero movement is one of the worst reliable movements around.
