Communication Quick Tip #1:
Eye Contact

This quick tip is to help parents draw your child's attention up to your face & mouth to increase eye contact and reinforce expressive/receptive language skills & vocabulary!

Get on your child's level! Putting yourself in their line of sight sets your child up for success! Physically maneuvering yourself into his/her field of view reduces strain and promotes positive interactions. Remember to praise like CAH-RAZY!

Also keep small objects/things your child wants near by rather than allowing them total access. Each time your child needs another piece hold it up to your mouth and label it before giving it to them. This helps children make associations between objects & words and naturally draws his/her line of sight up to yours. You can do this during play or during daily routines to help increase functional communication!
