For those who want the real answer:-
Consider a latitude circle with circumference of 1 mile and center at the North pole. Our starting point will be any point 1 meter south of this latitude circle (let's call it A)and follow the steps-
1) one meter North will make you stand at a point on the latitude circle (LETS CALL IT B ).
2) 1 mile west will make you move around the latitude circle and reach the point B again(cause you completed the circle)
3) now move 1 mile south of B, you will reach A (the starting point again).

My geography teacher liked to ask this: "if you are standing in the exact middle of the north pole, which way is West?". Brilliant man. Because of him I could answer Musk's question in a heartbeat.

It's north pole, you go south, then when you go a mile west you just rotate around the north pole, and the one mile north brings you right back, just facing a different direction

It is North Pole because when you go 1 mile south, west and north, you go by the meridians and paralels of the Earth. They intersect at the North Pole, so you would be there.

The answer is the North Pole. North would be relative so if you dropped down a mile, walked laterally a mile, and then went due north a mile you would make a triangle instead of a square because you would be walking directly back to the North Pole.
