Actually, slight misinformation in the intro: It was better to use shiny versions of the Legendary Beasts in Gens 4-5 since the Event versions of them that got exclusive moves were always shiny, and were also locked to specific Natures.

This was most relevant for Raikou since the Event moves were good enough to run (they were useless on Suicune, at least in Singles) but were non-mandatory enough on Raikou (unlike Entei where where was basically no reason to NOT use the Event moves) to where it was beneficial to be shiny on non-Aura Sphere sets to bluff that you were Rash nature instead of a +Speed nature, and/or bluff Aura Sphere.

Knew this would be tatsugiri because in regionals (can't remember if san Diego or Orlando) for a good half an hour i couldn't wrap my head around why a dozo was getting a speed buff with a curly tatsu - had no idea before that they had separate shines for some reason and had only seen the white one
