Vietnamese Shaking Beef (Bò Lúc Lắc)

Ingredients:

For the Marinade:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
-1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 pinches of MSG (optional)

For the Beef:
- 1 lb filet mignon, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

**Optional Dipping Sauce:**
- Salt, pepper, and lime juice (mix to taste)

Instructions:

1. Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, honey, and MSG. Set aside the marinade (no need to marinate the beef beforehand).

2. Cook the bell pepper:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chopped red bell pepper and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until it starts to soften but still has some crunch.

3. Add the onion:
After the bell pepper has cooked for 1-2 minutes, add the chopped onion to the pan. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent but retains a bit of crispness. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set them aside.

4. Sear the beef:
In the same pan, heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the cubed filet mignon in a single layer, cooking without the marinade. Sear the beef for 1-2 minutes per side, shaking the pan or using tongs to flip the pieces, until you get a nice crust. Cook for about 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.

5. Add the marinade:
Once the beef is seared, pour the marinade into the pan. Stir and toss everything together for about 1 minute, allowing the marinade to coat the beef and caramelize slightly.

6. Return the vegetables:
Add the cooked bell pepper and onion back into the pan with the beef and marinade. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through and well coated with the sauce.

7. Serve:
Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy with garlic noodles, jasmine rice or on a bed of watercress. Optionally, serve with a dipping sauce of salt, pepper, and lime juice on the side
