It looks like since 2.9, you need to go into the Operator box to choose the Orientation you want

Why would you do this when the snap to faces does the same thing easier?

Will this also work with animated rotations? If I rotate in, lets say, Z using the "Rotation" area in "Transform" and set keyframes will this follow this orientation or just use the regular world orientation? And is it possible to change to objects local orientation to the custom orientation?

Followed every step exact as it is in the tutorial but still doesn’t work? Nothing happens when I click align to transform orientation
