This list was written by Scotty Kilmer; the best car that was ever made is a 1994 Toyota Celica.

Mocking Scotty Kilmer doesn’t wash. His recommendations are based on 52 years of working on cars and watching trends in the auto industry. It’s not just about what a customer here or there tells him. I’ve owned hundreds of cars myself, and my experience pretty much tracks Scotty’s experiences.

I have a 19 Ram Limited.
I have had several new trucks from various brands over the past 15 years.
I’ve had issues with all of them.
Overall I am very pleased with my RAM.

I think that it’s a lot in how you treat the car. The couple that had the muffler fall off. What is the full story on that? And Kia’s are great cars. We’ve had quite a few. We’ve had a lot of Ram trucks also and they are great.

Sounds like a Scotty Kilmer list...hmmm. But, in honesty, I say buy what you like and deal with it. I'm a big Toyota (Corolla, Land Cruiser) and Lexus (RX 450h) fan but have fallen into favor with Infiniti (M35x, Q50) after having great experiences with them and most recently I've fallen in love with my Tesla (Model 3 Performance). I don't expect RX to accelerate like the Tesla and I know the Tesla is not built as well as the Lexus. But, I love each of those car brands and they are the "best" to me!

I have been driven over 15 Toyota (corolla, celiac, MR2, Camry, Altezza, Lexus NX, RX .... many many more) since got my license at 16 yr of age. So far, every single one that I had is so reliable, and now I still using my 2012 Prius V daily with over 150, 000km on it. And I just bought a 2020 Prius Prime which is on its way for delivery next week, really looking forward to it. I really appreciated what Toyota does, for all the Toyota that I have, really didn’t have any major issue. Besides my daily work horse, Prius V, I have my 1988 MR2 (AW-11) supercharged restored after it reached 120K km. On that 120K km, other then feeding gas, and regular oil change on every 7000-8000km, only one of the bulb for the headlamps burnt. I am really really happy and appreciated on what Toyota made, worth every single penny.

LOL! Your reaction at the end of that video was pretty good. For the most part, I would agree with the compilation on that list. FCA has, for whatever reason, always ended up at or near the bottom of vehicle reliability lists from all of the usual sources: JD Power, Consumer Reports, Kelly Blue Book, etc. Conversely, Toyota has always ended up at or near the top of all vehicle reliability lists by the same resources I just listed.

Of the 90 vehicles I've owned my 2008 Ram Big Horn Edition with Hemi & my 2014 Challenger R/T have been the most reliable new vehicles I've ever had so I think quality is hit or miss. I also bought a new 2017 Maxima & love it, zero issues & the same 0 to 60 times as my Hemi Challenger, go figure. Fords I have had the most reliability issues with, I swore off them in 2008 when my new then F-250 diesel twin turbo went out within the first month, I made them take it back & got the Ram instead, best decision I ever made on a new vehicle.

Scotty's list lol, thing he is right about Toyota and honda the are best reliable(thru years, after 5 to 6yrs), first 5 yrs does not measure a good car, every company has good cars but scotty speaks in general(not only new cars)and of saving money not everybody understands,
European, gm, chrysler are terrible

It can be easily told you were mocking Scotty Kilmer lol

Well, I don’t totally agree with him, but I gotta say he got a point even though he is not convening.

I would say if you would stay away of something, then that would be GM. I live in an extremely hot environment where non of GM products can survive. All of GM products have the same repeated issues related to the radiator and their fluid systems being leaked. The AC compressor always fail and they got a lot of electrical faults. In fact, they rarely last more than Five years before they are sold to the junk yard. Chrysler and Doodge do not have a better situation here than GM and surprisingly they have the same problems. Ford used to make a reliable vehicle in the 90s and early 2000s, but I’m not sure about their recent ecoboost thing. I have heard some complaints about them but haven’t seen any of them myself, so I’d just avoid them as most as possible just to be in safe. To be honest, I’m not sure where the American manufacturers problem is. I mean they can built a solid vehicle but they prefer just doing a business I guess.

On the other hand, Japanese bands are extremely reliable especially Toyota, Honda, and Mazda. I have seen them doing great even when users misuse them. They are always driven for couple of hundreds thousands kilometers.

Korean manufacturers are somehow in the middle. Their products look reliable when they are brand new, but once they age, you would figure out how unreliable they are. It seems that they are struggling with the most complex parts of vehicles such as the engine. It worth mentioning that their AC compressor is one of the worst compressors out there since it always fails for no reason.

Unfortunately, I have no idea about European vehicle brands since they’re not sold well in where I live. People here just buy luxury European vehicles, so I cannot tell whether or not they those affordable brands are reliable. I mean here VW, Peugeot, Renault …etc.

When it come to luxury cars, I would say BMW, RangRover, AlfaRomeo and Jeep are some of the least unreliable luxury cars while Lexus, Volvo, Mercedes and Porsche are somehow reliable. Keep in mind that no mechanical device can stay forever especially when it is equipped with all of these electrical technologies, and here where the luxury brand problem lies; I mean once they age, they would cost a lot only to keep them running.

I don’t agree with the Kia one, I know someone with a 2010 Kia Soul with over 200, 000 miles and its still chugging along.

I’ve owned a couple Chrysler products and didn’t have any problems with any of them. I’d like to see them do some updates on their styling and the interiors need some better designs but the quality is okay in my book.
