India To Overtake China In Population

Recently, the data from United Nations (UN) revealed that India is expected to overtake China as the world's most populous country in 2023, with each recording more than 1.4 billion people in 2020. The data was revealed by the UN through a report which warned that high fertility levels will challenge the country's economic growth.

In fact, India's population is expected to grow to 8.5 billion in 2030 and 10.4 billion in 2100, as the death rate slows. According to the UN Secretary General, the growing population is a reminder of the responsibility of all parties to take care of the earth.

Meanwhile, sub-Saharan African countries are expected to account for more than half of the expected increase by 2050.
