This is not a good sign for India. Too much reliance on imported fossil fuel would put India in a vulnerable position as to price fluctuations in the oil markets. It could be a drain on our forex as well not to mention the dangers of supply in times of conflicts

If this goes on, and in future USA may put pressure on India, Indian economy could face high inflation with slow down in eco.!and would not be able to compete with China etc.

We spent 5% of our GDP to buy oil. We should move towards electric Cars. Why Government don't have any policy for electric Chargers.

🌟 Actually it is a very good sign, oil demand directly shows increased
economic activity and progress, shows implementation of infrastructure
projects and development work. It also shows that lots of FDI and new
businesses like mass manufacturing has come into india and manufacturing is up.

⚜ Yes dependence on foreign oil is not as good as having own oil. But india
does not have much oil of it's own. Like many other nations that have no
oil of their own (Japan Korea Taiwan Singapore Germany France etc etc),
if India wants to grow and eliminate poverty by mass manufacturing and
modern agriculture techniques, then india HAS TO import oil.

👉 Also it is stupid to say oil import will drain our forex reserves, some
people are cleverly misleading indian people. Because the oil imported
is used to mass manufacture goods which india would otherwise import at 100 times higher
cost than the oil, and inida can use the oil to produce goods for export too, thus increasing forex reserves. So india had low forex reserves and was begging from W bank and IMF before PV Narsimha Rao's reforms and Modi's 2nd stage reforms, and india's oil imports were also
much lower.
