Simply breathe in and out with the audio and/or video. Breathing exercises and heart rate variability exercises are great for you generally. I will say that if you have any heart, blood, nervous system issues, etc.. then I'd highly recommend speaking to your doctor before doing these.

Just a quick correction...
If you start counting from 1 rather than 0 then all your counts are 1 second short.

Is it important to remember to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth?

according to scientific research the most well studied for affecting HRV is 4 sec inhale 6 sec exhale

But I would prefer 3 sec inhale and 5 sec exhale for those who have reduced lung capacity

the ratio (shorter inhale vs exhale) is more important than the rate
