The most useful solution is direct recording via usb calble from the X1850 to the laptop and use the free software Audacity! Every channel including the rec out is recorded separately, and there are no losses because of double (D/A and then A/D) coding.

Couldn’t figure out for the absolute longest how to record on Audacity with a Pioneer 900 Nexus 2 on a Mac. After watching countless videos on YouTube and reading help forums online I finally found the answer. One small tip that was not mentioned on this video either; Under the Mixer Output tab on the settings utility, turn ALL channels to “Mix (Rec Out)”.

Hi mate, I’m looking into video recording my vinyl dj sets at home. Just a couple of things I need to know really.
1 - What sort of camera do I need for video recording? I’m just looking basic.
2 - mostly important, How do I get the best sound quality from the mix? Would I need an output from my mixer, or I’ve got a Scarlet interface actually? Do I need to input the signal from the mixer to the video recording device? I could really do with some clarity on this please. Thanks Andy
