How to livestream your DJ sets on YouTube [WITHOUT copyright issues] ✅

Turns out that if you want to livestream AND keep a recording of your DJ stream online afterwards, there is currently only one option: YouTube. In this video, Phil Morse runs through a 3 step copyright "test" that we use prior to all of our DJ livestreams, that - depending on the outcome of your test - you’ll know whether you can use all the tracks you wanted to use, or whether you need to avoid one (or more) of them.

Super awesome tip! I have always wondered how to get this going, as I didn't want to commit to a subscription service yet until I knew it was worth the time. Also, I really only play for myself or a select few friends/family anyway, so it is great to know how to get around these things. Keep it up guys!! Love the content.

Thanks for the video... very, very, very useful Information. And very clear and concise. Also the examples on videos that contains songs "noticed" by YouTube and how to manage it, are very valuable. Indeed very good work. Thanks for sharing!!

FYI Guys, the tips he mentions in this video though in theory should avoid your live streams from being blocked, youtubes system often falsely still can block your live stream, even if the track is permitted to be uploaded with a yellow circle. Making it extremely difficult to prepare the right songs. And its also not the same for everyone. As a test I ripped a live stream dj mix from someone elses channel that ran on loop 24/7, I tried to live stream it as a test and wamn, it blocked my stream with the black screen of death meanwhile his runs just fine.

Excellent video, very helpful as every single tip I get from you guys. I have a question. Can I upload that video test in private and still get the songa analyzed or it has to be public in order for YouTube to do that?

Any tips if you use beatsource? Wouldn’t be able to drag and drop as music files are in the cloud not hard drive

Nice vid. What are the chances that the tracks (or at least some of them) change from being non-blocked to blocked in any period of time after publishing on YouTube?

Thanks for this Phil. Gonna give it a try. Is the process still the same in 2023 or have any details changed we should know about?

Very valuable info! Thank you Phil! I am wondering: what if you wanted to go a step further and actually make that "test" set live for a day or two just to see if they gonna block it? Would that provide even extra confidence and eliminate that 1% of uncertainty? Do you have any info if affiliate links make copyright holders change their mind and block you later down the road when you are live or it does not make any difference? Thx!

So my controller has a built-in sound card can I just plug HDMI to my camera and go to work?
