@Tucker8720 I'm not, no. If you have an external soundcard with phono inputs, plug the turntable directly into it and set that as your input. You can also plug your turntable into your mixer and then connect your mixer to a line input on your soundcard.

In windows, it shows inputs and outputs rather than the soundcards themselves. It sounds like you don't have a line level input, and that is the reason that I would suggest getting an external soundcard. If you just want a line level input for recording, you can probably get a cheap usb soundcard with 1 pair of RCA inputs.

I still keep getting feedback in my mix using turntables

Thanks for the video, pretty straight to the point. Only issue i'm having is that i hear the click of each key that i press on my keyboard as i'm using serato to record. Is there a way to bypass that? It records but on playback you hear the keyboard clicks over the recording

@carlosgrijalva90 Check for activity in the VU meters on the channels you set to record. If there is no activity then there might be something wrong with your soundcard or routing settings. If your inputs are set correctly, and you have armed your tracks for recording, then there really isn't that much else to do besides press the global record and play.

I did everything exactly like you said. I have a mix with two audio tracks. One has the input as Ext. In and 1, the other as Ext. In and 2, and the Monitor is off. I set both with the Arm Arrangement Recording and test if they play. Everything works fine until I hit the global recording button and click play. Nothing records. Just a flat line.

Am I correct in saying that this way you can mute/unmute tracks and change effect parameters, while Live records all of these?

are you using turntables for the mix? Because im trying to figure out how to record my vinyl mixes into ableton

I already made a mix with serato but the recording on the program had a few clips in it that i wanted to fix. I fixed them with Ableton but i dont know how to save that edited set and make it as audio to present it. It looks like when i record it just deletes my work.

When recording an external mix into ableton, are you able to stick a limiter/compressor onto the incoming audio,
