I’m glad I’m not the only one having trouble with this. I’m going to try this tomorrow. I know it will take time. Edit: Two days later after putting food (breakfast and dinner) in his crate, kong, and having him practicing going in and out of his crate...he has stopped crying at bedtime for the past few days.

I sat in front of the crate and every time my dog stop barking I gave him a treat and told him good boy then the longer he went without crying I really reward him with three treats. This dog is so quiet now in his crate it make me wonder is he ok. Lol

Tapping on the crate and then praising my puppy for being quiet worked like a charm. Now he loves his crate and doesn’t make any noise while in there. Great advice

The issue is that many trainers give a lot of mixed advise. Sometimes I have had trainers say to stop the noise by giving treats, others say be silent. It really confusing not just me, but the furry one.

This works! I have been crate training my new puppy for 9 days and all she does is scream and bark for hours. I live in an apartment so the noise has caused me so much stress due to neighbors complaining. I applied his suggestions today and it worked instantly for my puppy! I am so grateful! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this! My puppy was barking like crazy for two nights after we brought him home. We practiced these crate training exercises during the day yesterday and he didn’t bark all night last night AND he responded to the whining correction. I’m amazed that it worked so fast!

I can hardly believe how well that worked with my 9 week old puppy. He's generally very good but has a tendency to bark when I put him back in his play pen and walk away. Your advice works!!! Thank you so much for making these videos for us, for free. Two night ago we had about 2 hours of sleep due to our puppy crying and barking in their crate. Our previous dog never fussed in the crate, so we thought the right thing to do was to let the dog “bark it out”. Last night, within 5 minutes of following your advice on tapping the crate with “uh uh or no”, the barking and whining stopped. We had a full nights sleep, thanks to you!!

Omg this video was so helpful! Trying to crate train my 13 week old Alaskan Malamute has been a nightmare with the constant barking & whining. This worked IMMEDIATELY after weeks of not making much progress.
