I adore this style of training, it had me smiling the whole time watching his gears going trying to figure out what he was supposed to do, and how he lit up once he caught on. That's extremely satisfying to know the dog is having such a good time learning a behavior that will ultimately benefit the owner.

I used to have an incredible female German Shepherd named Ari (you can see her in my profile picture). She used to learn everything I tried to teach her. She learned fast, with only affection and sometimes toys as rewards. She was unbelievable.

Unfortunately, she passed away a month and a half ago at 10 years old due to cancer.

I’m not a professional dog trainer by any means, but remember that if you love your dog and show them that love, they will always follow you, protect you, learn from you, and love you back. Training a dog is one of the most rewarding and beautiful things you can do for them.
