In this video, I'm going to give a very brief history of why there are 3 minor scales and only 1 major scale. Then we'll go over the differences between the 3 minor scales. We'll finish up the video by showing you some melody examples using all 3 scales. Hope you enjoy the video.

Just want to mention that there are technically more than just 3 minor scales out there (pentatonic minor, jazz minor, hungarian minor, etc)

Although I used to play piano for 12 years, now I have to play with the right hand only because of a stroke. But this doesn't stop me from learning more!!! Thanks!

Hey Man I dig this. Lately been experimenting with Melodic Minor but could not get it to sit right - had no idea the scale was primarily for upward movment but downward is back to natural minor. Thanks for this.

Sorry to seemingly spam this video but I’m looking to know whether if you have a parametric EQ below other plug ins in a specific mixer channel, will the EQ have any effect on the sounds that go through the above plug ins - or does the EQ need to be above the plug ins in the mixer channel?

Good video :)

harmonic minor is awesome... I love baroque music... :) ( bach and vivaldi are the best classical composers of all time... and yeah, I'll fight on that! :D )

How do you 'determine' the chords used with your melody? Do you use the melodic or harmonic scale for creation chords, or the natural scale?

Nice video but man... it's too fast. I barely could follow when you play the notes in a scale.

Of course I can go back and rewatch but anyway.

Greeks messed up the whole theory. Thats why now it seems so complicated. 🤨
