Queen Elizabeth II officially became the longest-reigning monarch in the UK. Celebrations included a flotilla down the Thames River and the opening of a train to Scotland, where the Queen likes to visit.

i don't agree with monarchy, it's pointless and not needed and just supports state capitalism. she has the power but she wouldn't dare reject a PM otherwise their would be major shifts in the monarchy's power - so why have all that power if you can't use it. the only thing it brings in for the country is tourism... but for what it is worth \9my brother would hate me for saying this as a socialist and so i am) but for what it's worth, she's been a decent queen i guess.
