P0171 CODE ON A 2001 FORD ECAPE. I USED THE AUTOOL SDT-206 SMOKE LEAK DETECTOR TO LOCATE LEAK. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A DAMAGED PVC HOSE.

Won't the smoke (mineral oil or glycol) leave residu inside the pipes? And can you use this on a turbo diesel after the MAF? It will build up some pressure in the turbo air inlet which is not designed for that :)

Is it normal that the gage to read de pressure it has oil inside ?

A decent smoke machine can sure help find small problems. I wish you would continue the video to show the vehicle running after the fix! The better channels will do that. I will subscribe to your channel, but please consider showing after a fix clip! Thanks, Tom

Love the video. To be fair though anyone who works in fords would check that pcv hose first thing. It’s a common leak source.
