Nice video about another overlooked, effective piece of fitness equipment. Love your channel. It is awesome to see a young guy showcasing the earlier, inspiring eras of bodybuilding and strength sports. I'm 59 years old and remember the magazines and the ads for so many of these items which are "old school" and even antiques very vividly. You have my respect, Brother!!🙇👏

I've incorporated the power twister into my workouts for the last 3 decades or more. Not every workout, just some, for variety. I strained a wrist using it a couple years ago, so took time off from it, but now use it again, being more careful to avoid another sprain. I find that varying my workouts makes them less boring, and works my muscles from different angles. "Muscle confusion", as it has been called. I'm no expert, but it seems like a good idea.

Be careful using this device as it puts a lot of tension on the tendons of your elbows more so than any other upper body exercise

I've tried weightlifting and I've tried the Power Twister, the Bullworker and the Chest Expander (the elastic kind from Ironmind- you can even use them on your legs!) and prefer any of them over weights. Sometimes use an isometric approach with them. I like the Isobows as well for that!

Love my power twister…. Like to do isometrics with it holding each exercise for 30 to 45 secs…. Also do a specific set of exercise in 30 secs then rest then move on to next…. There is basically 10 exercises I do this with….

I've been doing the chest expander for about a year now and especially like the slightly elevated version of the pull which really hits the mid-lower part of the back that I don't really get from rowing and my posture seems to be improved since then.

Good positive video, helping people have an idea on what it's all about.

Make sure you use the straps on PT.
Be careful on the high tension springs as it can cause damage if you're not used to It's like nothing you have ever experienced.

If I remember right, Bruce Lee use to try to beat the spring going back to its normal rest, or something like that.

Hey Forgotten Fitness! I'm really into dumbell press lately, and I observed that power twister is an ULTIMATE TOOL to do really good dumbell press with rotation.
Just bend this spring DIRECTLY before dumbell press and you FEEL ultimate movement pattern and best mind-muscle connection!
I don't have actual power twister, just some long spring that is bendable, weight maybe 10 kilos... AND IT WOOOORKS! Imagine what great dumbell press you can do with power twister. I think that power twister purpose is to make you do greatest dumbell press :-) When you see the connection, you can't unseen it!

Nice.
I had one when I was a kid. It was super light. I took it backstage with me at the bodybuilding events....but push-ups and Pull-Ups on the inside roof ladder worked better.
They never supplied weights at the smaller events.

Nice video Forgotten Fitness. I have a 30 kg Power Twister and I always finish off my workouts with exercise number 2. I only wish the total length was longer. If you look at the shot of Robby and Arnold with their Power Twisters; look at how long the handles are. I wonder if that makes a difference when using the twister? Peace, Sal 💪

I ordered a 30kg power twister, though I wanted to start with the 20kg one but didn't find it.
I didn't start using it yet for fear of injury, as I didn't go to the gym for years. After watching your video, I'm gonna give it a try. Will warm the muscles first, of course.
*Update* : I tried the 30kg one, and it's no big deal actually. Can do 10x at least twice in a row 2 mn of rest in between.

I think I'll order one of these. I do have chest expander. Have you used the Bullworker? That one is more expensive.
