I"m grateful for the opportunity to share this case with you. We saw the patient @ 24hrs post treatment and the swelling had gone done (and pain was 0/10). At 72hrs post treatment, patient's swelling had decreased significantly in size and finally @ 7 days, the patient reports swelling almost gone. I didn't mention it in the video b/c it is controversial, however, the patient was provided with 7 days x 500mg Amoxicillin (TID). We are trained that antibiotics are not indicated unless there systemic indications of an infection, however, it is fairly common that we provide abx in these situations. The article talks about abx as well. What are your thoughts?

Hopefully it wasn't too boring. There are a few tips in there I have had to learn the hard way and wanted to share with you.

I would like to donate my teeth to the field of dentistry and henceforth receive free medical treatment going forward.. I will waive All Rights and agree to have dental students do all work for my benefit and their educational benefit. Every aspect of my life is pretty much on point except for the miserable mouth that I possess due too horrible past choices.. I'm over here lancing abscesses at home just to get out of pain. There has to be something out there for low-income individuals

Great results. Wouldn't Chlorhexidine have been a better choice? Considering how wide the canal, and possibly apex was and the increased risk of irrigant extrusion.
And could you kindly share what were the antibiotics prescribed for this patient?

Hey doc, great video, would you recommend antibiotics in this case? If yes, how many days?

The worst part is when the patient blames you for that no matter what you say or how much you

Very helpful, I just had this almost exact situation but tooth#11, and I actually drew out a huge amount of yellowish-greenish pus/exudate! I wanted yo vhoke the patient's husband because, I wanted her to do the root canals WEEK'S ago but, he did not allow her to have it done. She came in balled over in pain, with a head full of pus!

Can you please answer this question...it says
"Suppose Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath (HERS) fails to develop during the early stages of
odontogenesis. Discuss the expected consequences thereof, with specific reference to the structures
which will be affected in the mature tooth."

Would have been better if filmed. Did you place the pt on an antibiotic after TX began? It's typically not indicated, but out of curiosity.

I have the same exact thing cause of the tooth decay. Dr has advised root canal. But the lump is growing day by day and have been given OTC medicine for pain relief. Should I get it surgecially removed or wait for it to pop on its on? Please advise something the pain is literally unbearable. I have been on painkillers now by urine is turning red

Dr, I had a root canal after that root canal on the 4th day I got numbness and tingling in the area left lower lip and chin, X-ray was taking and it did show a small little infection below that root canal however antibiotics was taken for whole week the pain gone but the numbness reduced a bit and the tingling still there, do u think it’s possible to heal since dentist said that small little infection/swelling is putting pressure on the nerve and that’s why the are still numb day 22 . Thanks
