This video has been in my Watch Later list for a while, but I wish I had watched it immediately! This was a great walkthrough and really illustrates the tedious things to do to get a great sculpt. Thanks again!

you can just go to zrmesher in geometry
and select adaptivities to lower and then to zmodeler brush and it is shortcut for all topology you did and you can also get fine result for nice simple mesh

you should make the basis of a darker color, then the light lines will be more noticeable and work will be more convenient and easier

So actually you are doing job twice, first you are making "usual" form. After that re-topology ? But isn't it faster just to model it in hard-surface in 3dsmax or Modo or something like that ?
