RIP FH4 tests are no more. Had many good runs.

We can all thank AMD for getting Intel back in the game and turning the battle back on. The next few years are gonna be interesting

You guys have to remember that he is using an RTX 3080 at 1080p, which means that in real world tests like at 1440p, 4k or a weaker GPU like most of the majority has, there will be no difference at all except in CPU only games like CS:GO, Valorant etc. So if you have an i9 9900K you really don't have to upgrade to any new CPU yet for gaming reasons yet.

Just upgraded from a 9700K to a 12700K and I've seen a massive improvement, especially in frame consistency (I play at 4K with a 3080 Ti). Average fps also improved quite noticeably

If you were playing in 4K there would be no difference in the number of frames. If someone has the i9 9900K, it makes no sense to change the entire, much more expensive platform.

While a few years old now, the 9900k is still a top CPU for gaming, so if you have one like I do, you will still be golden with it.

Its finally time to upgrade from my beloved i7 4770k.
Never had a reason to upgrade until this 12600k came out.
This time though, instead of i7 I will be going with i5. Seems like the best value.
And 1070ti will still be my GPU for another 2 years at least.

for some reason the GPU usage with the i5 is rarely under 90% which helps keeping the FPS higher

Thank you for your time. It is a little bit crazy that the difference is only between 5-7%, and the 9k runs Fly Simulator better than the 12k; it blows me away. I don't think this is worth upgrading with all this money to a 5-7% increase.

DDR5 misrepresents the result here. Comparing the i5 12600k with the same DDR4 memory, the i9 9900k and 12600k are almost identical. +-2-3%.

Crazy how it wasnt long ago when the 9900k came out, and it already gets beaten by a cpu half its price...

I only got a i7 9700k but I its still very good for gaming, I will keep it for a few more years.

Good job Intel for making a massive performance jump from 11th gen to 12th gen. Give credits to AMD too for giving Intel a hard time with this everlasting tense competition.

i upgraded my i5 3570k to an i9 9900k in 2018... i think im not going to be held back by the 9900k for a few more years. ill look again in 2023.

It's a improvement for sure but is it worth the >$1K extra(CPU, MB+ ddr5), and not to mention if you play at 2k or above resolution CPU matters less.

Thank you! I've been wondering how the 9900K stacks up against both the 12600K and 12900K. But, no Red Dead Redemption 2 for testing with?!

if you use games, there is absolutely no point in switching to an I7
12700K. To gain on average 25% max of FPS in 1080p the performance gap is too low ! in 2K-4K how many fps ? 5-10 % ?
Keep your I9 9900K or your 8C/16T AMD CPU.
it is better to invest in a more powerful graphics card !

Nearly on par with 12600k. Which is good, given how intel is increasing core count and ipc aggressively from last few years.
