It's awesome to see that just 3 gen younger i5 has similar gaming performance in half power consumption than "legendary" i9

It's crazy that the 9900K is still going for at least $300 US or more while the 12400 is readily available for $159 at my local microcenter.

the fact that you could upgrade from an i3-6100F to an i9-9900KS is crazy. The 1151 socket was insane

Look at 1% lows i5 76fps i9 128fps witcher 3 and other games, gpu usage (less bottleneck) is also higher on i9, also u can oc i9 to 5ghz ez with luck to 5.2 stable 24/7 yes u need beefy cooler and it use more power but still it is much better

Im convinced the 9900K is the best CPU anybody couldve bought for the last few years. Thing has so much life left to it and runs great with the high end over two gens of GPUs. Hell Alder Lake and Zen 3 are only marginally faster. It may have costed a decent bit but you literally got premium performance for years and its still going strong, while people who bought lesser chips have needed upgrades

If you're gonna make a good bench, don't change any parts except what you're trying to showcase. Granted ddr5 RAM isn't that much different than ddr4 right now, but we can't tell how much that made a difference.

should have choosen same ddr4 platform for realistic testing as no one, literally no one going ddr5 with 12400f atleast

9900K wins, despite the ancient Skylake IPC, the frametimes just look smoother. While Alder Lake IPC and new i5 is good, there is the 11th gen i7 that is faster and cheap with good perfomance per dollar, around $200 microcenter for the i7-11700K.

The high memory latency from ddr5 is crippling the performance on 12400F cpu.

I5 12400f much better than i9 9900k. So why i buy a i9 9900k
