Let's not forget that Mace Windu himself considered OBi Wan as THE master of Form 3 and an excellent duelist. When someone like Windu gives praise that means something!

I like how much you reference “Palpetine simply believed Obi Wan was Lucky”
Because as Obi Wan says himself “In my experience there’s no such thing as luck”

Obi wan, was not seen as the most powerful, yet he was always stepped up to whatever challenge he faced. The Galaxy may have been under control of the Empire for many, many years without him. Not the strongest but still the best Jedi of his time.

Kenobi defeated Darth Maul when he was still a Padawan, trained the guy that defeated Count Dooku, then defeated and crippled that same guy after Palpatine turned him to the Dark Side an took him as his apprentice.

Considering that Obi-Wan had a direct hand in wrecking all three of Palpatine’s apprentices, you’d think he’d have a little more respect for the clear threat Kenobi posed.

Obi-Wan is the best example of a Jedi Master who excels every aspect of the Jedi. He never really had a true weak area of his training. It all culminates as one.

Obi-Wan maxed out the efficiency of what he was able to do despite not being as 'powerful' as Anakin, Windu, or Yoda. His raw force power was weaker than theirs, but his connection to it might've been the strongest as he was able to become One with the Force and let it flow through him in combat. The perfect skill for a person who's more of a duelist than an insane force juggernaut

Dueling skill wise, he's up there with Anakin, Windu, and Yoda, and is probably one of the best in the entire franchise. That combined with a tactical mind, genius battle intellect, creativity with maxing out what he's got, Obi Wan performed insane feats like beating Maul as a Padawan, taking W's in their rematches, matching and beating Legends Asajj, eventually becoming Dooku's equal in skill in RoTS, absolutely destroying Legends Grevious, beating Anakin/Vader, and even when degrading in power and skill, was able to match a calmer more experienced Vader and didn't even lose but both sacrificed himself and literally became one with the force

i feel like obiwan was like the only force user to reach their max potential. Maybe Yoda too. I see Obi as someone with less talent but the best work ethic. Hard work beats talent

What you said about Sidious’ arrogance is spot on. Obi-Wan was said to be weak in the force, and yet, he achieved the immortality that he was seeking, and never got.

One thing I always recognized watching the clone wars was that Obi Wan was typically the face of the Jedi order going into any conflict. He was very based and calm discussing politics and always had the answer that Yoda wanted to hear. I do agree that Maul always knew that Kenobi was the only thing that would hold the Sith back. Then again, Maul also knew that Skywalker was the chosen one far before the creation of Vader

What is interesting to me is how almost all of the other major characters in Star Wars are tempted or fall into the dark side, Obi-Wan was one who stayed with the light side from start to finish - and lasted much longer than nearly any other character in the Star Wars continuum. He also killed some major characters like Darth Maul along the way (and many others).

He had excellent dueling skills, and knew Anakin's weaknesses, and might've gotten a bit lucky. He was also very wise and patient. Palpatine was also very wise and patient overall, but prone to emotional outbursts or ego strokes that caused him to make errors. Obi-Wan rarely lost his cool or his resolve, allowing him to win in the end.

Obi Wan defeated 2 of Palpatine's apprentices. Who has that type of record?? Due to that and his longevity- he could be the Jedi GOAT

It was super effective

Qui-Gon taught Obi Wan so much about the living force that he became its agent. For a man who doesn't believe in luck, it sure was his friend until his mission was accomplished. Same concept as Chirrut Îmwe in Rogue One, when you are that attuned to the force, you become it's incarnate vessel regardless of your actual strength. The force has a will and people have destinies in Star Wars. This is the in universe explanation for plot armor that is stronger than Beskar.

Masterful. Obi-Wan excelled at the power of love. A force ultimately greater than anything else.
