California hospital accused of secretly recording women in surgery, childbirth

A lawsuit claims a California hospital secretly recorded women during surgery and childbirth. A lawyer for the women says 1,800 patients may have been filmed at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa. Sharp HealthCare says it installed cameras to investigate medication theft in 2012 and 2013 and did not use them again. It says it sincerely regrets any distress it caused to patients.

Believe it or not you can be filmed all the time without your consent in the state I’m in only one person the person who sets up the camera needs to know you’re being filmed. Years ago I am visually impaired and a friend of mine told me that the doctors office was actually filming my entire visit even with the doctor was not in the room I felt so violated so so violated because I have been talking about very personal stuff to my friend and then come to find out that I have been filmed for years without my permission I was furious and I have not trusted doctors ever cents I have not trusted being in hospitals or any place because the fact is you can be filmed anywhere now everyone has cameras. I think it’s ridiculous and I think it’s a gross violation I don’t feel private anywhere anymore
