General Grievous, the famous and powerful Jedi exterminator. His ability to track down jedi and kill them was one of his most highly esteemed skills. Having originally been a reptillian creature from the planet Kaleesh, Grievous was later turned into a cyborg at the request of Sidious and the oversight of Dooku. Using Jedi Mater Sifo Dias’ blood to circulate through his veins. As he adorned his tribal mask to complete his robotic appearance, he was one of the most gifted Jedi hunters in the galaxy. Having defeated countless keepers of the peace, and taking their lightsabers as a token for his collection.

With such ability, including his 4 dangerous lightsaber wielding arms, it makes one question, how did Obi Wan defeat him? Don’t get me wrong Obi wan was a skilled jedi, but he was not the best in relation to master windu or yoda. That’s what we will discuss in today’s episode of star wars theory.

Remember that in the Clone Wars cartoon series (before the CG series) on Cartoon Network, Dooku specifically instructed Grievous that he would need surprise, fear and intimidation on his side when up against the best Jedi in the order. He told him that if he was missing even one, his best action would be to run.

Obi-Wan had surprise on his side, and Grievous had neither fear nor intimidation. Grievous never stood a chance. In fact, Obi-Wan was actually excited to face him since Grievous had such a different fighting style due to his cybernetics. You can see the excitement on Obi-Wan's face right as they begin the battle.

As much as I love The Clone Wars, I don't understand why they had Obi Wan & Grievous have multiple lightsaber duels against each other? When in Revenge of The Sith, Grievous says to Kenobi You fool! I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku! Why would he say that to him if they fought multiple times with Lightsabers?
