RTX 4060 vs RTX 4060 Ti 8GB in 2024 - Is The 'Ti' Worth The Extra?

With about £80 difference in price, the 4060 Ti should offer a better gaming experience than the 4060, especially at 1080p. But just how close is it in a native resolution, side by side comparison with no upscaling or Ray Tracing?

this is nice but its also nice if u include 1440p so they can see the 4060ti is capable of 1440p most of the time with 60fps in some games and thats worth something.

I always found it funny when people debate the TI on older cards because it's usually a 20% gain at most. So it's like buy a new card or get a 20% increase right. And rarely are new cards much more, example

2080ti vs 3080
The difference being 30 to 50 dollars.

So looking at prices in Germany currently (cheapest model) you're getting about 20% more performance for 37% more money (€100) when buying a 4060ti over a 4060.

nice, can you do a 1440p showdown between the 6700xt/6750xt or the 7700xt and the 3060ti/4060ti? They are the "budget" 1440p cards rn, with the 6700xt being the cheapest

imo the only reason to go for a 4060 Ti instead of the base one is the extra VRAM version of it but it's still quite a bit more expensive

Where I live, you can easily get a used 6800XT/3080 for less than $400. The issue with the 4060/4060ti is the MSRP.

Not to mention the absolutely murdered bandwidth speeds all the way up to the 4070TI Super lol

Dunno... its like 15-20 fps more for 100€/$ more, if at least they gave 12GB to the 4060 Ti instead of 8GB keeping the same 400$ price... it would maybe make it more worth it, (yes i know there is a 16GB version but it is just more vram and performance is almost the same as the 8GB variant for almost 500$/€).

Hi, it'd be nice if you included a reading from a plug meter to shownpower consumption when doing graphics card videos and comparisons. There are smart plugs that let you output the data in excel

The real problem with both 4060 is the VRAM ammount, even a bigger problem witb the Ti variant.
The 4060 should have been sold with 12GB of VRAM, but 8GB "is enough" to use most of his power. While 8GB on the Ti model simply kills the card because at higher resolutions it struggles to keep up compared to what is able to do.
Than put in account a 4060 8GB is "only" 300€ in my region, while a 4060Ti is almost 500€ (and both 16GB variants are 200€ more), the only logical thing to do is buy the base 4060 and save up money for a later 5070 16GB variant (that Nvidia will not provide).

5:00 Fortnite actually lets you watch the replay of a match and it will render it just as if you were playing the game in real time. To view replays, just go to the career tab in the main menu then replays are on the bottom right. Replays is the most accurate way to benchmark Fortnite.
