Yes he speaks in layman’s terms so it’s easy to listen to.

I was diagnosed with mild non-alcoholic fatty liver disease about 10 years ago at age 58 when I had an ultrasound due to some abdominal pain. I could not understand it because I have always maintained my weight, had a fairly health diet, exercise, don’t drink, etc.. my doctor told me not to worry about it, that it was a benign condition that would probably never bother me. It really bugged me though so after a couple of years I started googling and saw where one site said oral hormone replacement therapy can cause this. So I started using the bio identical creams instead and had another ultrasound two years later and no more fatty liver! That really is the only change I can think of that I made. Also, when the doctor in this video said a woman’s ALT should not be above 25 I looked up my old values. In Jan 2012 mine was 29 - in July of this year it is down to 16! Just wanted to give you ladies a heads-up on the oral HRT - not good for your liver!

Excellent presentation and information. I have dropped 20 pounds to 193 and will continue to the weight which I held 20 years ago or 180. The discovery of my NAFLD was a happy accident and it has caused me to lose the weight and eat less--both will likely improve my quality of life and longevity. Stay well.

It's great to see this... I have also treated myself. Weedborn oils have helped me a lot.

I was recently diagnosed with Nash cirrhosis stage 3. Starting a Mediterranean diet, a little nervous. Hoping it can help slow down the progression of the disease

I went for an office visit last week, and the doctor decided to do a physical. It was 2pm and sends me to the lab right in the same area. I told the doctor but I didn’t fast. He said it’s not necessary anymore. Sure enough, my a1c was up and liver enzymes were up twice, 70-80. I was pissed Then he sends me for an ultrasound for the liver. I didn’t get the report yet. I am currently doing low carb and walking. I had tests done 2 years ago for gallbladder. The liver and pancreas were good, HIDA test. I’m taking another blood test in the future with fasting and continue exercise and low carb. Pissed at this Doctor, and I just changed from another beauty!

I'v been looking at my lab tests at the beginning of the video and found out I'm prediabetic while my pancreas physically hurts after hight caloric or sugary meal even after one doctor told me he saw worse tests and sent me away. Low sugary and not too high caloric meals for me is the key. I'm woman from Czech republic. Thank you.

I did Weight Watchers for many years and kept a healthy weight from 1995 to 2005. In 2005 I got diabetes during pregnancy and after that have not been able to achieve a healthy weight again. I am also sedentary due to severe arthritis, but exercise regularly in a swimming pool and continue to eat what most people consider a healthy diet. I have avoided sugared sodas and juices since age 18 as well as baked goods. Irregardless, I have developed a fatty liver and developed type II diabetes in 2016. So I believe the Weight Watchers diet contributed to my fatty liver. Healthy fats like nuts and avocados were so strongly discouraged. I am looking forward to starting in a bariatric clinic at University of Washington in two weeks.

Thanks for an informaitve presentation one point, your recommendation under Macronutrient composition slide is low-to-moderate fat but under the same heading you suggest ketogenic diets which are 70-80% fat, so which is it?

All carbs are the problem, not just fructose

One of the more informative videos out there on NAFL. Great advice. I know bc I tried the restrictive apprach, lost weight and was unable to sustain low carb approach. Im going to try the Mediterean diet now for a more sustainable approach.

This was an excellent presentation, that can help so many people learning about and going through the understanding of NAFLD/NASH. Thank you so much for providing such valuable content.

If ALT and AST aren't elevated. Then we need to change the lab printout to now say over that levels above xyz, yet normal may be NAFLD.
We do this for other result markers. Why not this?
I was a diagnostic lab tech for 17 yrs.

I lost 30 lbs. My fatty liver is gone but I still have some scarring. I am going to keep trying to lose a bit more and my diet is much better now. However, my doctors never say "that's good." Just lose more. I think they need to be more encouraging. The reason a lot of us aren't "thin" is because we have something inherently wrong with our livers (not all of us are diabetic). A kindly approach to people who actually achieve results might help.

This video should've the millions of views this other so called "Doctors" have on this topic, its crazy that anyone that is not a doctor can spew information when they never studied or had the specialization required to even mention the topic
