Throughout history, nations have risen and fallen, but few have reached the pinnacle of power that the United States achieved in the 20th century. But just as the 20th century was defined by the emergence of the United States, the 21st century offers the same opportunity to others. And there’s one country that is perfectly positioned to begin its own meteoric rise to the top of the world stage. And it just so happens to share a border with the United States. That’s right, today we’re going to look at how Mexico can, and perhaps even will, overtake the United States. Or at the very least, become an even more important player on the global stage.

I had the amazing opportunity to finish my highschool in USA. I remember my economy teacher who said: Mexico would be most powerful country in earth, but corruption is a great problem.

Mexico without the burden of the Cartels, could be a super power as well

Yay Mexico! It's about time we started supporting our southern neighbor. I'd much rather buy Mexican goods than China's. Having pride in a job well done is something Mexicans are known for, not slave labor.

I remember growing up when many things here in california had labels that they were made in mexico, and i when the shipping systems from china started backing up i thought "we should just have everything made in mexico again". Glad to see someone else thinking about that possibility

My teacher once said to me "Our country has 10 times the natural resources that USA has, and still, Mexico is a Third World Country, and USA a Global Power, that's the impact of bad managment"

Anything China can make, Mexico can make it better. And you don't need to haul it halfway around the world.

USA and Mexico should focus on helping out the Americas central and latin America. This would stop the migrants crisis and get a boom to keep the Chinese away.

Been living in mexico all my life, born and raised here, and for the first years of my life i saw europe and the Us as “better places” wanting to study and work hard and move abroad….. now seeing the current state of this places i look outside my window and say “wow…. We had it better than them and didnt noticed it” cause mexico just has it good, we have everything we need, people are nice, rich culture. Good economy, I love my fucking country man. (Yes i recognize its far from perfect, many problems, cartels, corruption etc but honestly thats only in the shitty areas, the rest of the country is fine)

This is important we should keep close contact with Mexico. Most Americans in this country don't know to have a new president it's a woman. And Chinese trying to have some influence there because of it. We need Mexico they are building a new canal because the Panama canal is too crowded. I would rather deal with Mexico playing with China and India.

I am a Mexican citizen living in Mexico and, NO, we will not "overtake the US" in any way, but it's a huge breath of fresh air to get Chinese manufacturing here, that's for sure ✅️

Also, his fight with the judicial branch of government is to remove corruption in which they consistently side with corporate greed that also happens to align with American interests.

Mexico is not lucky with its ports, they lack navigable rivers and ample harbors. I hope they can rectify that and continue growing!

Many years ago there was a book written about the strategic planning to form a North American union of Canada, Mexico and USA. That would do away with having three major governments and establishing new North American currency system. Allot would occur from this over several decades . There would be no other country on Earth that could compete with such a massive unionization system.

I spend five months a year there. It’s a completely different place than back in the 80’s. Great country. Lots of problems just like us.

My husband and I have lived in Mexico for the past 12 years. This video is well done and they appear to have their facts right. I couldn't disagree with anything said.

The prices here are rising, just like they are everywhere. They're still much cheaper than they are in the US or Canada, where my husband is from.

That said, a couple of years ago we bought our second house. We're in a gated community on the beach. The house is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a large deck and the whole thing was far less than $25 thousand.

There are 3 American postal annexes in this town so we're all spoiled with Amazon deliveries, just like we were during Covid.

Doctors, dentists and vets are less than half of American costs. We had 6 feral kittens spayed/neutered this summer at a cost of $25-$30 USD each.

Taxis and buses are dirt cheap, so you don't actually need a vehicle except to maybe cross the border back to the US for shopping, Drs appts, airport dropoffs, etc.

I sound like an ad but I'm just saying it's a great place to retire or, if you don't mind the border wait times, you can commute to the San Diego area for work. Lots of Americans here aren't retired but work from home. Most people here, close to the border, speak very good English.

Just saying, lol...Yay Mexico! Come on down to Rosarito Beach, Baja, Mexico!

The Mexican economy is highly diversified, growing, and stable. Its one of the strongest major economies, attracting more nearshoring and companies from Europe, the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and China. It's already one of the top exporters of manufactured goods globally (producing more vehicles annually than the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Canada, Australia, etc.). Companies that have set foot, or announced expansions or are constructing new plants in Mexico in recent years include everything from Lego to IKEA, Tesla, Stellantis (maker of Chrysler and Fiat), Volkswagen, BIC, Ford, AirBnB, Netflix (producing content for Latin America, not just consuming). That's in addition to long established companies like GM, Audi, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes, Nestle, Microsoft, Intel, etc.

And they just discovered new deposits of gold, making Mexico now potentially both the largest producer in the world of silver--and gold. And they're also among large producers of other minerals including copper, zinc, and likely lithium as well. They've also just uncovered a large oil deposit offshore the Mexican coast that is said to equal U.S. oil capacity.

Mexico is now the 11th largest economy in the world having overtaken Australia, Spain, South Korea, and Russia in GDP in 2023 and 2024. And likely to overtake the Canadian and Italian economies ending 2024.

Mexico now has an economy similar in size to Italy, Brazil, Canada, and Russia with a higher GDP per capita than Russia or Brazil. And less population than Russia or Brazil.

Mexico is also one of the world's largest electronics manufacturers (OLED tvs, laptops/desktops, smartphones, etc.), and active in aerospace, biotechnology, etc.

And its not just foreign companies. Mexico also has the 2nd largest number of native homegrown multinational companies in Latin America after Brazil. Mexico is almost literally growing money.
