Once again Scotty hits the nail on the head. Don't buy a new car if you don't have to its only gonna make the greedy car companies richer.

That chip shortage excuse has already run it’s course. It’s greed and nothing more.

Don't worry, I won't. I'm currently focusing on saving enough for food.

Perfect! I got my transmission replaced for about $2, 600.00 and I'll drive on. They can shove em for $40 K for an Accord or Camry. Fix what ya got if possible.

Prices are all jacked up to the point where buying a car is like getting a second mortgage. Give them two years off selling to recover from the shortages.
Fix your existing car until a museum asks for it.

i made the mistake and bought a total of 2 brand new vehicles, one in 1996, and one in 2000. never again will i personally buy a brand new vehicle. i currently drive an 86 Trans am (i install a remanufactured engine and transmission & rear end from my own shop built by me personally every 10 years) and a 94 Gmc Sierra extended cab long bed 2 wheel drive that i also do the same thing to as the Trans am. i also have a 2004 ford escape that was willed to me and my wife when her mother passed, but it just sits in the garage and hasn't been cranked in years, as well as a 99 blazer 4x4. i realized a long time ago that you shouldn't buy something that costs more than a small house to own, and it saddens me when i look around at all these people who think they have to "keep up with the jones's" and buy these cheap plastic vehicles they sell today and think they got something for their hard earned money that falls apart in a couple of years.

On gonna drive my obs, 7.3l until the wheels fall off, and then I will put them back on and drive it some more, even if I had to rebuild the motor for 7k down the road, still beats paying 70k for a brand new truck

The USA needs to adopt Canada's way of selling new cars. Dealers are not allowed to go above sticker, because 40-90k over sticker is outrageous. I get the dealers need to make money and the sales people have less to work with but it's out of control over there.

He's right. They want almost 40 thousand dollars for a base model now.. let that sink thousand dollars for a car that's really only worth about 16 thousand. Brand New.

You are exactly correct! I hope people take your advice. The manufacturer always has an excuse to raise the price. They lie so much.

I drive a 1994 Civic that will stand the test of time! You have already solidified the choice and power buyers have!

I've needed a new truck for two years, but I absolutely refuse to get gouged, so I guess I'll just keep driving the same old junker for as long as it takes.

My 2006 Mitsubishi still takes me from point A to point B. So no need to be slave of a car.

My 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe closing in on 200, 000 miles is still going down the road with the original transmission and engine. It was my wife’s car and I took it in 2014 when I got her a Mustang convertible . They are both running just fine and we will just keep driving them. I wouldn’t dream of spending the kind of money that they want for cars today.

There’s nothing like a paid for car that runs well.😁👍
