I was a massage therapist for almost 20 years. I had to get informed consent with every single client. So I had to tell them the risks, the benefits…. I couldn’t try to persuade them into anything they didn’t want to do. If I didn’t follow the strict guidelines I’d lose my registration. Now all of the sudden it’s ok for medical professionals to forget about getting informed consent.
