Advice needed: I've got an old Volkswagen Polo Mk.4 1995. The immobiliser has been turned on with a separate remote control which we've lost, and the only key we have is old and I think it doesn't have a microchip, so for the moment we can't start the car at all. Can we buy a new modern remote key with a blank microchip, and get a mechanic to get into the VW instrument cluster program and pair the key with the immobiliser?

We've been told that modern keys have different transformers etc. so they can't be paired, and since we don't have any microchipped keys to copy, there's no way they can program a new key. Also that they don't make the immobiliser remote anymore. But this video would seem to suggest we can pair new keys? Can anyone advise?

Nice video!! So, if my fob is no longer working for keyless entry and door locking (I believe a small piece broke off the internal chip board) but my key works for opening doors manually and starting car, what can I do to restore the keyless entry/lock operation??

How many keys do you have to adapt in the "remote" adaptation menu, if you have 1 key with and another without remote? I mean, it's 2 keys in total, but only 1 has a remote
