The best quote to me comes early in the video, where Malacador realizes his faith in the emperor was true and he had proof. “Someone else has reached in past me and performed the deed like the god he is not, but appears to be” that is some S tier level writing.

The Dark King aka potential 5th chaos god was perhaps the best thing about this book. Makes an event that was already legendary in the lore far more urgent.

I listened to it in audible and no lie, got chills when Malcador reacted to the Emperor standing from the throne AND the Emperor saying "I am the end and the death".

This was scary, creepy, and eerie as heck. Imagine the custodians, adeptus freaking custodians, screaming and shrieking batshit insane charging at the emperor whilst weeping blood in a ship with living walls and writhing flesh. Holy shit GW.

I never knew the reason why Constantine Valdor was depicted as batshit insane in the tts show, but knowing he's cutdown countless demons, which are in and of themselves almost unknowable on an individual level, and is taught basically everything about them when he kills them, it makes sense now.
On a certain level he knows more about demons than even Tzeentch does.

Malcador has some truly good insights, all his quotes are so powerful. The custudes one made me sad. Till now it was believed none fell to chaos, for them to attack emperor is some really warped shit.

This book made malcador shoot up the charts of my character rankings. His scenes were amazing and heartbreaking

Custodes going mad was the best part. It's even explained later from multiple perspectives. Loyalist and traitor alike were expecting a huge trap on the Vengeful Spirit.

But there was no trap... except pure chaos. Even Horus' own soldiers are shocked when the loyalists arrive and have prepared no defence. Horus' madness was just a way to blind the Emperor to expect a battle, instead of a shell of utter darkness to turn his own guards against him.
