Yes she lied but it's a little white lie so no big deal. She helped her friend avoid being attacked by Abby give Maddie a break. They didn't get a clean sweep because Kendall came in third which means someone from another studio beat her. If Kendall would've gotten second then it would've been a clean sweep.

That's not a lie. In the dance world a clean sweep means you got 1st in all the categories you competed in. Since Maddie and Kendall were in the same category, and Maddie for first, then it was a clean sweep.
