After seeing homelander saying it’s impossible to save a plane, I watched this to see a real hero do the job.

This is right after Superman told Lois

“Statistically speaking, flying is still the safest way to travel”

Just realised Superman saved Air Force One. He wanted to introduce himself to The President to show him (and the rest of the world) he was here to help and not be a menace. Oh, and to save lives as well :-)

Pity he didn't turn up to deal with the gremlin vandalising the engine in The Twillight Zone movie.

How many things are wrong with this amazing scene 1) The airspace around AF1 is always closed. They are the only plane in the sky. The entire airspace is at their beck and call including runways. 2) the crew resource management in this plane sucks. One of the officers in the back would be navigating. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. 3) No one pulled out a checklist. One of the pilots would be flying and the other running checklists. 4) 747s can land on 2 engines. Losing one would barely slow the plane down. 5) No need to tell ATC that the president is on board. If the plane has the call sign of Air Force one, the president is on board. Remember when Harrison Ford landed on the ramp and the Air force officer announced a change of call signs. 6) Air Force One isn't flying through a convective sigmet. They are going above or around.

I still love this scene and Fly, don't look, just fly. I also love the first officer looking at a paper sectional.

I like how the pilot does not want to reveal Superman
