Lois: "You've got me, who's got you?!" Still a great line from this scene! (RIP Margot Kidder & Christopher Reeve)

When John Williams' score plays after Superman catches the helicopter, It's difficult not to smile.

This is the best and most iconic scene in all of the Superman films. You always want to jump up and cheer as Superman catches Lois, and raises the helicopter single-handedly! It is a symbol of heroic triumph. It is a beacon of hope, much like that of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty! Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder are irreplaceable. Forever in the hearts of longtime Superman fans, and in future fans to come!

This wasn't just the moment that Christopher Reeve became Superman. This was the moment that the entire superhero genre changed forever.

Will always love Chris. Many fine actors have played Superman, but Chris Reeve will always be the best.

Im from NYC...The helicopter crash scene was taken place at the old Daily Newspaper Building (Aka Daily Planet Building) located at 220 East 42nd St.(between 2nd & 3rd Avenue)..everything is there as it were in the movie.. even the Superman movie props in the lobby are still there..you can go inside the lobby..its free..and take pictures..So if you in NYC.. stop by...

I will NEVER EVER forget the first time I seen this in the Newcastle Louis Lane hanging onto that helicopter, Clark coming out of the Daily Planet, him looking up then the drumrole as he headed past a phone box and spun in that revolving door. By the time Superman caught Louis first then the helicopter the whole of the cinema was gripped and cheering. Every time i hear that drumrole i get goosebumps and I am back in the is where I am happy to be . Best film EVER !!! RIP 2 LEGENDS

Still evokes the awe I felt when I first saw this as a child. The music, the cheers from the crowd, Lois Lane, the helicopter, the groovy man who said ‘that’s a bad outfit!’, and of course you know who -- all made this scene perfect. As to why we can’t have something that incites the same feelings in today’s superhero movies is completely lost in me.

The absolute perfect way to make a super hero movie. Respects the source material, excellent casting from top to bottom and great chemistry between Kidder and Reeve.
