Your video was not only very informative, but it helped me feel a renewed "sense of conviction" that my claim is right and just. After dealing with an auto claims adjuster for months, only to be unfairly denied, does take an emotional toll. I truly enjoyed it, thank you for making it.

A correction to #6:

After having worked for a homeowners' insurance provider, and also having recently filed my own first auto accident claim, I can tell you with certainty: The adjuster does not represent the client or the claimant. They represent the insurance company. Yes, I'm aware that is not the legal paradigm. But in practice, that is the fact. If you are not the insurance company represented by the adjuster, then you are not his/her friend.

Body shops and contractors--sure, they can be greedy as well. But they are the only ones who have only to gain by supporting your best interests. Those guys are your friends.

Well what do you do when they never answer your call, you've never spoken to them, they are always out to lunch mysteriously??..they never listen to what the body shop says??....they low ball the estimate given to them?

Great video. I'm in California with Allstate Liability Insurance with uninsured motorist coverage. My car was hit and damaged while parked overnight (hit & run). At first I called they said give the claim # to any autobody shop and Allstate will pay for all damages. I waited to see the approval. The adjuster later said since I did not get the persons license or license plate they would not cover damages to my car. He said that it is written in my policy I checked and I do not see anywhere that it says that. Do you know of this being written in the policy or are they lying? Thank you for your help.

Hey and thanks Attorney Justin, this was very helpful for me.  I'm planning to try a self negotiated claim with the insurance company of a guy that did a hit and run accident on me back in July of this year.  I am in VA, just now finishing up with doctor visits and appointments starting back in mid-July. Got all appointments documented and everything in order.  As I told the 911 operator after the accident, the driver appeared to be intoxicated, she would not accept me saying that.  Now, I just found out a few days ago from the investigating officer that the same guy was in jail for DUI for another incident.  Your video is quite helpful for me.

Insurance companies collect lots of money from private policy holders and they don't want to pay up on claims against them. I think policy holders need to sue the insurer for bad faith if they get named in a law suit and exposed and blasted on the public court record.

Hey from Canada here. I had a total loss after my house burnt. The first day after, the insurance adjuster called his estimator and said he would cost round 400k to rebuild. But after a few weeks, the adjuster said he would be more like 350k. I don't know if he's trying to lowball me. I would expect the first estimation to go up because the construction material cost has exploded during covid. Do you think i should hire my own public adjuster? Or maybe just get several contrator bids to get others estimations?
thank you.

I'm having a terrible time getting answers from the insurance company that represents the person that hit my daughter. They have so many excuses, but meanwhile my daughter's car is totalled and she's still having medical issues from the accident. This stinks.

Hello. Allstate wouldn’t provide a rental and my car was never repaired. Lady had no license but the vehicle was insured by a man who showed up. Cops arrived and watched my dashcam video and saw that she came over on me. Advice (I’m not in Fla). Thanks

The biggest reason for turn over in the insurance industry is dealing with a high workload and emotional customers. You can't fix having a high work load. But understandably customers and claimants will always be emotional. As adjusters we have to put our selves in their shoes. You got into an accident that was not your fault, you were injured. Due to your injuries you had to miss out on events you were looking for. Perhaps you were up for a promotion and work, and now since you had to take time away from work you didn't get the promotion. There are many reasons why an insured or claimant would be emotional during the claims process. The tips you give are very informative. Any time I get a claimant or an insured that is nice, firm, and understanding always makes the process a lot easier for everyone. People have a misconception that we are out to cheap people out but in reality we just have a high case load and honestly would like to resolve claims as quickly as possible so we don't get yelled at by our managers and can keep our jobs to feed our family. We make mistakes, but adjusters are more likely to admit they are wrong if you inform them in a reasonable, nice yet firm way.

Excellent advice. I appreciate the help.

May I trouble you for a question? What about if they were obviously at fault they totatled my parked car... and they didn't provide me a rental car? for 2 weeks I was forced to commute 7 hours a day by transit... shouldn't that count for something? I didn't have money to provide my own rental car :(. It's not fair at the end of the day. Any compensation I can receive on that?

Honestly i was hit by a dui driver. My compensation sucked with over 230k in medical debt. I talked to mulitple attorneys they all said the same thing " your case is worth alot of money but there isnt anymore money to be had " and my insrance didnt kick in at all over medical because apparently if 2 insurances have the same value only 1 can be used ? Idk whatever im alive ill have headaches everyday for the rest of my life of joy🎉🎉
