This is no ordinary R Product… The Luxury Touareg - known for being underpinned by the same platform as the Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne and Bentley Bentayga - is in Australia and brings with it a POWERFUL Turbo V6 and Electric Motor, to produce a CRAZY 340kW of power and 700Nm of Torque.

Still no one will buy it in Australia. Evneryone with similar buget will go for non-performance version of X5 or GLE.

You have to drive a hybrid very conservatively to make it economical. Otherwise, you might as well buy a performance petrol car, as you’re not actually saving any money considering the high purchase cost. My 2021 RS Q3, which I drive aggressively, gets 10 liters per 100 km. Honestly, diesel is king of economy—our X5 diesel 30d never exceeds 9 liters per 100 km, even with spirited driving, and that’s a full-sized SUV.

If I were to buy a hybrid, it would be for its performance and fuel efficiency. But many hybrids don’t deliver on that promise. Like this car has similar performance to a diesel V8 R but is worse on fuel economy when driving the r likes it’s meant to be driven. It’s misleading when companies promote performance hybrids as having exceptional fuel efficiency—often, they only achieve those numbers if you drive like a nanna. Otherwise, they can consume as much fuel as a V8.
