Ozark Season 4 Questions | What Will Happen after Ozark Season 3?

Ozark season 3 was thrilling and wrapped up the main storylines with Marty Byrde and his family. Marty and Wendy were able to make themselves more useful to their boss Omar Navarro. The cartel lawyer Helen Pierce started out as an ally, but found herself in a power struggle with the Byrdes. She tried to use the violence of the cartel against them, but Marty and Wendy outmaneuvered her to come out on top.
Ruth Langmore was working at the casino by Marty’s side at the beginning of season 3. After falling in love with Wendy’s brother Ben things got complicated. Ben’s mental health issues got progressively worse while he was in Osage Beach, and that led to his ultimate demise. After getting into a fight with Wendy, Ruth quit working for the Byrdes. Wyatt wasn’t talking to her at the start of Ozark season 3, and ended up getting involved with Darlene Snell. By the end of the season Darlene, Ruth, and Wyatt had started a new alliance.
The FBI will continue to put pressure on the Byrdes, as will the cartel from South of the Border. Marty will continue to launder money through the casino, but they may have to explore other avenues in Ozark season 4.
The big questions we have after Ozark 3 are:
How will the Byrde family and Ruth be affected by Ben’s death?
Will Marty and Wendy Byrde work as a team again?
What will happen with Charlotte and Jonah Byrde?
What will happen with Wyatt and Darlene?
Will Ruth and Darlene be able to work together?
Will Rachel from the Blue Cat return?
Will anything happen to Helen’s daughter Erin?
Is Ben really dead?
Will the Byrdes try to get baby Zeke from Darlene?
Will someone from the cartel take Helen’s place now that she’s dead like she replaced Del?
Will Three Langmore play a more important role in season 4?
Will Ozark revisit the friendship with Wyatt and Charlotte?
What will the FBI do to finally catch Marty Byrde?

In Ozark season 3 we met Wendy’s brother Ben. Ben was bipolar which became a problem after he stopped taking his meds. He fell in love with Ruth and they start a relationship that gets stressed as his condition worsens. Ben spirals as he learns more about Wendy and Marty’s business. First Marty is kidnapped by the Cartel, and then Ruth is hospitalized after an attack by an associate from the Kansas City mob. In a heartbreaking turn Wendy has to turn over Ben after he exposed to her daughter that Helen works for the cartel.
This video explains the ending of season 3 of Ozark, and why Ben was sacrificed. Helen makes a move against the Byrdes, but they are able to make themselves more valuable to the cartel to come out on top. The FBI is watching Marty’s every move, and the casino is in jeopardy. Ruth leaves the Byrdes to join Darlene and Wyatt creating a new faction between the Langmores and the Snells.
The ending of season 3 of Ozark on Netflix feels like a cliffhanger that sets up a season 4. The Byrdes are even more under the grip of Navarro, and now all the other criminal factions are lined up against them.
Ozark Season 3: It's six months later, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family's destiny. Marty preaches keeping the status quo. Aided by an alliance with Helen and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro, Wendy plots for expansion. But when Wendy's brother Ben comes into town, everyone's lives are thrown into chaos.
The new season stars Emmy Award® Winner Jason Bateman, Emmy Award® Winner Laura Linney, Emmy Award® Winner Julia Garner, Emmy Award® nominee Janet McTeer, Tom Pelphrey, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, Lisa Emery and Jessica Frances Dukes. The series from MRC Television was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams who executive produce alongside Jason Bateman, Chris Mundy and John Shiban.

Still no announcement for Ozark season 4, but I can't imagine there won't be one. What are your biggest questions after the third season?

Laura Linney killed it this season. The scene where she breaks down in her car because of Ben is heartbreaking.

Hellen should never had given Wendy direct contact with Navarro, she ruined the power dynamic and made herself irrelevant, amazing show

Great season. Darker than usual. The whole Ben story arc feels like a punch to the stomach.

Hats off to the actor playing Ben. Outstanding performance as it got closer to his death, Emmy award-winning acting in my opinion

The most interesting scene no one is talking about is when ruth jokingly calls Darlene crazy. Darlene makes am effort to control her anger. This has to blow up in season 4. Both have impulse control issues, but Darlene is homicidal

It's annoying me how Ruth and Wyatt are blaming the Byrds for everything. Ruth and her uncle got in bed with them first by trying to steal his money and then Ruth telling her dad all about them.

Last week my son told me Ozark was a must watch.... So, I started and finished all three seasons with only a 6 hour sleep break. I would have slept longer but I couldn't stop thinking about the show. I crashed hard after but it was worth it!

Wyatt and Charlotte will start talking again, which leads to Darlene becoming jealous. She’ll try to kill Charlotte which will make Wyatt kill Darlene.. that’s my prediction

I love Jonah and Ruth. Jonah is not to be messed with. He’s actually really smart and I think his parents should listen to him more about his ideas. I don’t think Ben is dead. I hope he isn’t. I love to see the look on Wendy’s shady face if he comes back.

So are Marty and Wendy gonna constantly say “my client” over and over all season?

At the end of Season 2 the KC mob blew up the Byrde Enterprises office building. Season 3 they are in the office like nothing happened. That puzzled me all season.

If somehow Ben was still alive that would be Ozark's jump the shark moment. Cause, why all the theatrics with Wendy if he wasn't really dead

I started coming to your channel because of your coverage on Better Call Saul, but the fact that you also do Ozark is why I clicked that bell. Thank you for all your analysis and hard work.

Can we just appreciate Wendy’s character development

One thing we should likely all agree on is that if a Snell/Cosgrove alliance does form, the Byrde's are gonna need more muscle than just Nelson.

Ruth’s at fault, she was told verbal times about how dangerous he would be

Loved Ben at first but overtime I could see he was a lose cannon .. unfortunately he had to be dealt with.

I’m honestly so interested in what will happen with Erin because I mean just think about it ..your first love dies in a cartel massacre.., then you find out your mother is a high ranking cartel member.., then you find out your only friends are deep in the cartel lore.., then your mother goes missing...will Erin fall to the dark side or find a path of enlightenment that is the question!!
