took me two days to make it work lol
i was just confuse in the ios part, let me break it out, so you can understand.
after create folder and mout, it will open the file explorer, select the vault folder(when you create a vault it will create a folder in you phone, you must select it)
basically: you pointed your recently created folder to the existing vault folder, you need to ERASE it! dont forget this part
so, cd to the folder erase, then git clone follow the rest of tutorial

this workaround looks cool and free but requires manual adjustment most of the time ...
i use mega sync, it offers 20 gb free & the files (if i recall correctly) are encrypted so ur vault is safe & synced automatically w/o any manual adjustment or troubleshooting ...
it's even better than iCloud Drive setup btw ios and mac. u can sync whatever u want, big files... and if u have characters and stuff in the files names it accepts it ....
just a quick note, mega app is a bit confusing regarding Uploads Vs Sync folders, so just remember to go to the settings and setup a sync folder ... do that on both devices and if u want to just upload a files w/o syncing it then use the mega browser instead of the app to upload to the cloud ...

I use standard notes to sync so it works well but I will definitely try out the way you mentioned as using git also helps kinda keep a record of all the changes, , thanks !

I've managed to set it up in Windows and Android... now I'm stuck in Ipad:

I've already installed Obsidian and I can find its main "Osidian" folder in "In my iPad" (through Files app)...
after installing git (through ish shell)
I can't find that folder (ls command exit is empty).
I can see through "pwd" command that I'm at /root

How can I move to "Obsidian" folder to clone the repo?

How could the mobile sync be done on Android? I assume the same commands as on iOS wouldn't work

I am just trying to share a Vault between 2 PCs. I have installed the github app and created a repository. I have cloned the repository to a folder in my D drive. when i open the folder as a vault and install the git plugin i get the error "Git is not ready. When all settings are correct you can configure commit-sync, etc.". i am not entirely sure what i have done wrong? i haven't been using the terminal to install anything if that matters?

At the point of trying to push in Obsidian I get fatal: bad revision 'No'
and when I try to pull I get fatal: ambiguous argument 'No' unknown revision or path not in the working tree
No idea how to troubleshoot this as this is my first attempt at using git. It is a little frustrating that the written instructions in your article are incomplete compared to in this video, but I followed the video instructions and this seems to be the Chinese wall for me. I have no idea why it would not be working or what these error messages are asking me to do, or what they're telling me.
