In Todays video we delve into all of the new content in Rimworld Anomaly, following a gang of researchers and their ghouls, crash landed on a Rimworld they choose to study the void and turn a whole lot of people into Ghouls, and then give some of those ghouls power claws, it's a whole thing.

Rimworld's Steam description for the magical robot goblins -
Rimworld - Anomaly is a sci-fi colony sim driven by an intelligent AI storyteller. Generates stories by simulating psychology, ecology, gunplay, melee combat, climate, biomes, diplomacy, interpersonal relationships, art, medicine, trade, and more, wow... cool... these folks do that whilst being Ghouls and worshipping the void

RimWorld - Anomaly is a horror-themed expansion inspired by classics like Cabin in the Woods, The Thing, The Cthulhu mythos, Hellraiser, and many more.

I hope you like my hour long struggle with all the content in Anomaly, see you in the next one, hopefully it won't be a full month's wait this time.

I'm now imagining that this dark ghoul cult is trying to discern the secrets of the void and every so often a fucking ice cream truck drives by and they're all just pissed off, "can you not? we're trying to concentrate!"

It's so fascinating how this game started with simple stories like Cambiar the cannibal, and with every expansion it got more weird

Missed opportunity to call it "Ghoul-ag"

I just realized how overpowered Ghouls are.

You could give them bionics, or even put them into a warcasket.

They don't need social needs, they only need to eat, don't feel pain and aren't affected by psychic events or abilities.

Pro-Tip, for the Death Pall, if you don't want to invest in a furnace for cremation, put the bodies under the harbinger tree. There is an option to auto generate a body storage zone around them. They eat the bodies with their tendrils and spawn new trees. The Harbinger tree is about the only "friendly" anomaly in the DLC. If you don't have any tree spawns in your map, you can buy the seed from exotic traders (both caravan and ship). They cost about 1, 500 silver (depending on how good your trader negotiation skill is), if you feed them often enough they spread with new tree spawns near the original tree. There are some creepy joiners that can remain fairly passive, but some are incredibly deadly. If you want to have loads of entities for power generation, don't destroy the bodies, and invest in nerve spike crossbows. You can also craft a simpler version of the stun rods (psychic shock lance) when you get to the right point in the dark research.

Some quick maths reveals that Nociosphere was born in the same year that Rimworld launched its Kickstarter.

Small tip about the Harbinger Trees: They eat corpses, very fast. As you feed them more will grow and give you more coverage for a graveyard, and you can cut down the trees for twisted flesh... for some reason? Dunno why unless you have too many and just are getting rid of them, the primary use is as a graveyard for the piles of bodies, no more clutter OR SHAMBLERS. They're a primary defense against deathpall, always haul corpses to feed them, it makes colonists happier anyways.

I love how the fact you started with 2 colonists and a ghoul is a testament to how long this video took to make. (This was patched to 3 colonists and a ghoul a couple of days after the dlc released)

I was very confused when you started talking about THE CUBE. You were showing a golden hexagon, and I was wondering if you had cracked a little. But once we got deeper into the video, I realized that THE CUBE was being shown at an angle and that there were shad differences for the three faces we could see on it.

Overall, great video!

The void has been tamed, but the cube prevails.

There is only cube, the cube is all.

It's a shame you never used the underground power lines, as while they cost twice as much steel, you'll never have to worry about the fires destroying them.

I am SO JEALOUS of you getting a legendary nerve spiker that early game. My anomaly ideology has been trying to get the legendary nerve spiker artifact for multiple in-game years.

I really liked this weird arc of Sampson constantly stumbling across her own twisted clones over and over XD
First she's literally haunted by her corpse and then have to deal with that shit multiple times as it dies and reappears near her again.
Then she gets her own otherworldly clones that also just lie down and die at some point further to the story. To a xenomorph analog busting through her no less.

I saw the thumbnail and had James May go "Ghouls." in my mind.

With the duplication obelisk I found that you can get around the degradation of the original by turning the copy into a ghoul, sending it out to die to something it can’t win against, and then resurrecting the ghoul after. The clone degradation thing won’t be there anymore.
