Chronic Kidney disease is characterized by a gradual loss of kidney function over time. The stages are 1, 2 & 3 early stages where basically there are no medications for kidney disease. You need to control the underline cause. Like if you have diabetes, control diabetes well, keep the sugar under the control, if you have blood pressure, control blood pressure. At Stage 4, where 60%-70% of the kidney is damaged, specific medications such as ACE Inhibitors and Angiotensin Receptor Blocker exist which prevent further progression.
