RAINBOW SHARK MERCH FOR SALE NOW:

The crocodile footage at 1:14 is by YouTube user neon- flamingo, not Coaster Who. That was an accidental mislabeling on my part.

The fact that some of them are abandoned and left in the water after they’re closed down adds to the creepiness.

I just get scared thinking about falling into the water with the animatronic💀

“It is even rumored that the whale itself still sits in the water to this day” The thought of accidentally stumbling across a 50ft decayed whale animatronic in murky pond water? Nope nope nope 🚫⚙️🐋

The scariest ones for me are the ones that have stopped functioning but remain submerged. Feels like a twisted Jack-In-The-Box, you know it’s never gonna work again but the thought of it coming back to life at an inopportune time is what really gets me.

one of the most terrifying experiences of my life was when i one time went on a water slide that was completely pitch black inside and i thought it was just gonna be a black tunnel all the way through but then out of nowhere there was a giant dragons head with glowing eyes and you go through its mouth. i dunno if this counts as submechaniphoboa but it was horrifying

Okay Mildred is the only water animatronic that I’ve ever found to be cute. “She often tries to make friends with butterflies” like c’mon that’s the most purest & sweetest sentence. Even the word “Crocklebog” is charming whimsical and adorable ⚙️🐊🦋✨💕

I was terrified of the Jaws ride. I knew it was a robot. I was scared of being trapped in the lake with the robot. I have now found my people.

When he said a scuba diver had to go down there to put the whale back on the track, I said fake or not 😂😂 HELL NO

Bertha had an oil leak at one point (recently) that turned her all black and even more terrifying. I think they either re restored her or cleaned her up and she looks fine now.

My biggest fear is falling into a big body of water in a dark ride, unable to see what's beneath me. And a machine touches my foot.

It makes my skin crawl imagining myself get pushed in the water with those demonic animatronics in it

it’s not even the animatronics that scare me. it’s the fact that there’s a ton of machinery under the water you can’t see.

I don’t think the Sea Serpent is cute or scary. I think it’s derpy.

I remember reading a Reddit AMA of a woman that worked as a mermaid on one water ride in a few decades ago (I can't remember the ride name). They said that many times while being in the water close to the ride you could feel suction forces pulling you towards to underwater machinery if you got to close. I still have nightmares thinking about this.

Because water constantly moves it has the effect of giving life to likewise inanimate objects.
