Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. The story is based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past.

"A world unseen, where wonders gleam,
And with each stride, a new scene streams."

Enter a fascinating realm filled with the wonders and discoveries of ancient Chinese mythology!

As the Destined One, you shall traverse an array of breathtaking and distinctive landscapes from the classic tale, composing an epic of adventure that is seen anew.

One of the major highlights of Journey to the West is its diverse cast of adversaries, each with their unique strengths.

As the Destined One, you will encounter powerful foes and worthy rivals throughout your journey. Fearlessly engage them in epic battles where surrender is not an option.

Spells, transformations, and magic vessels of all manifestations, in which some counteract while others amplify, have long been iconic combat elements of Chinese mythology.
As the Destined One, aside from mastering various staff techniques, you can also freely combine different spells, abilities, weapons, and equipment to find a winning strategy that best suits your combat style.

Beneath the ferocity and craftiness of your foes lies an engaging tapestry of their origins, personalities, and motivations waiting to be revealed.
As the Destined One, you will uncover the stories behind a variety of characters, delving beyond your battles with them to taste the love, hate, greed, and fury they once held and still carry within.

This game is far harder than I was expecting, it starts very easy with the general enemies you run into but the bosses are actually pretty brutal

You didn’t rest at the shrine, that’s why you had no heals for that first boss🤣. I’m pretty sure that Wights souls will be available again later, and finally that elite you were looking for is by the waterfall

Thank you for buying and playing the game on YouTube. I’ve wanted to buy this game ever since it’s been announced, but I have been so burnt by early release buys. I’ve looked at it every day since it’s been released and today I am buying it!!! I really appreciate your channel.

That bastard changed me into a cicada and I was like, Sweet. I can fly. Then it ran out on top of big head boomer and I was dead.

The 2nd stance was a blessing for that guy. Perfect dodges help

Yeah, the mini bosses that you get souls from can be redeemed at a shrine if you somehow didn't absorb it. In the case of the Wight you can beat him before you get the Gourd upgrade. So just remember to reclaim it.

Think I got lucky and flew past the big Baldy to the next shrine and saved. Went back and he kicked my ass. I then attempted the Wolf in the Temple and nearly got it first time, but died. Now all three bosses in that area kick my ass, but I’ve figured out that although you can’t block or parry (at least early game you can’t), I can use the spinning staff move to block attacks (not just arrows), plus it does some minor damage. Jump and normal, attack is effective, followed up by a charged up heavy attack. Just gotta persevere. If I can beat Nameless Puppet in Lies of P, any boss is possible. 😂

For the big baby dude, if you kill him before you get the thing that lets you absorb those, it'll be at the shrine when you do get it.

Fun Fact: Tang, the name of the monk that Wukong follows in Journey to the West, was a Golden Cicada who had been reincarnated as a human and given a mission to collect scriptures in the west as penance for falling asleep during the Buddha's teachings. Tang, as a cicada, was one of the Buddha's earliest disciples and was supposed to sit next to him, the Buddha, and listen to his sermons.

God you got that big guy down to half health so quickly and staggered him easily maybe I'm not using my heavy attacks enough or something but I'm on my third attempt at beating that thing

there's actually a treasure behind the waterfall at 21:48 you just need to get a key item after you defeated a boss

I needed the fire wolf spear to beat that big headed guy. So far I am really liking the combat. It is unfair for people to compare it to Sekiro because it has zero on death mechanic or stealth. It is like a cinematic ARPG game and it is a nice mix up.
